Something I can’t do today, with my backache
Hi there!
In Italy, we’re living in a new COVID wave. And I had a killer temperature I couldn’t work on this issue as I intended.
That’s why it’s late, but at least it is still Tuesday, isn’t it?

✦ Virginia Woolf, and one of her sexiest lines (actually in Jacob's Room she wrote “Language is wine upon his lips”).

THE MISSING INGREDIENT
CAMEL MILK AND PICKLE KETCHUP
Secret Breakfast loves food predictions so much that I wrote an ebook about that, last year (it’s free, you can download it).
Now it’s time for other people’s predictions about food in 2024. Axios has made enough for us to fantasize about for months: camel milk, protein coffee, Dalgona coffee, pickle ketchup, Bulgogi, bibimbap, Korean egg drop breakfast sandwiches (★recipe), and “creste di gallo” pasta (which I don’t really trust because it has the same name as the genital wart).
What’s your prediction?

THE BOOK
Core, Sweet, and Tears
★★★★☆
If Mark Kurlansky is not my soulmate, please tell me who could be. He wrote books about cod and salt, and now - bam - onions! As Julia Child once said, “It is hard to imagine a civilization without onions”. And it’s harder imagining something some good meal without onions.

FOOD FOR LATER
How AI is transforming the restaurant industry
JP Chauvet / Fast Company
The takeout: “AI will never replace human interaction at high-end restaurants, but it can enable the people who run those restaurants to spend more time with guests”.
