When on a food truck, Bradley Cooper is so happy

Hi there!

Whatever you’re going to cook in the coming days, I wish you the same excitement actor Bradley Cooper had while on a Philly cheesesteak sandwich food truck in New York City a few days ago.

This could have been a Christmas recipes loading issue or a Christmas stress unloading issue. I went with the latter, I hope the choice was right.

THE MISSING INGREDIENT

MAKE AN OMELETTE, OR “HOW TO SOLVE A CRIME ACCORDING TO STEPHEN KING”

Stephen King’s latest novel, Holly, has a beautiful image about solving crimes and making omelettes in reverse.

“Most cases are fragile, the way eggs are fragile. Why? Because most criminals are dopes. When it comes to doing dirt, even the ones who are smart are dopes. Otherwise they wouldn’t do dirt in the first place. So you treat a case like an egg. You crack it, you beat it, you put it in a pan with some butter. Then you make yourself a nice little omelet”.

THE BOOK

Notes on a Small Island

★★★☆☆

“Vogler hasn’t called her book Stuffed to signal the amazing array of facts she has gathered […]. The word can mean utterly screwed as well as swollen-stomached in the post-buffet sense, and thanks to this it’s entirely apt for a study of British food in good times and in bad”. An interesting account on food in the history of the UK.
