Welcome to Secret Breakfast / An exclusive newsletter, the best place to savor the silence by making butter candles, shortcut brioches, and tricky mushrooms
A vaguely racist, sexist, animal-cruel, and adult-only illustration to keep my point
Hi there!
In case you were wondering, even the Seven Deadly Sins sound better in French. Take Gluttony, and repeat with me: La Gourmandise.
How can something like this be so bad?

BAKE IT LIKE BECKHAM
It's all in the reflexes

That’s my queue to talk about fungi!

THE BOOK
Make It Rustic
★★★☆☆
First things first, I love the artwork here. Second, if you loved Polpo (the Soho restaurant or the book), this is by the same family. Tuscan cooking is the main character here, inspired by Russell Norman's new restaurant, Trattoria Brutto. The book is praised as a celebration of “one of Italy's most beloved cities, Florence, and specifically the bohemian district of Santo Spirito”. Humble ingredients, explosive taste.
